Defamation


The term defmation is defined in detail U/s. of 499 of IPC. In brief any perosn feels harm to his reputation in the society with the words, comments, signs or publications by any body which can be treated as defamation. The effected person can claim damages or the defamation clauses. In any cases particularly criminal cases if it is proved the allegations made by the complainant are established as false, the accused persons are entitled to claim damages by filing demfamation suit in civil courts against the complainant in addition to filing of criminal case to punish the complainant for filing of vaxius petition.
