Right to Information Act 2005 (RTI)


In the year of 2005 the central government has enacted Right to information act which entitled the entire public to get any kind of information in all government departments, public undertakings, in all institutions and organisations which are receiving funds from the government. The government has enacted this RTI to get transparency in the administration. Any citizen of India can seek any kind of information along with supporting documents through an application by paying Rs.10/- only. U/s. 6 of RTI Act. In case of not receiving information within 30 day, the applicant can file 1st appeal U/s. 19 of RTI act to the next senior officer of concerned department. In case of not receiving any inforamtion or not satisfy with the information or documents furnished by them, there is a opportunity to file second appeal U/.s 19(3) of RTI Act to the State commission of Information/ central information commission.
